Where is the Illawarra Volleyball Assocation (IVA) based?
IVA operates in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, with our home venue being the Illawarra Hockey Centre, Unanderra NSW 2526.
How can I join IVA?
IVA has different levels of membership available depending on what sessions/competitions you are interested in joining. Visit our Registration Page to get more info on the different membership classes and to sign up as a member.
Do I need to have previous volleyball experience to join?
Nope! We have a range of programs available depending on your level of experience. For complete beginners, we recommend looking into joining our Juniors Program (for U18s) or our Social Competition.
What programs and competitions does IVA offer?
We have a range of programs available throughout the year. This includes our Juniors Program, our Social Competition, our Beach Volleyball Program and our Representative Program. Head to each of the above links to find out more about each program!
Can I try out for representative teams?
Absolutely! We encourage athletes of all skill levels and playing experience to try out for our representative teams. Each year, we enter a number of representative teams into different divisions in the Sydney Volleyball League (SVL), as well as a series of other competitions such as NSW State Cups.

Coaching and Volunteering
How can I become a coach or referee with IVA?
We are always seeking individuals to take on coaching or official roles on behalf of IVA! If you are interested in getting involved as a coach or referee, please reach out to us at admin@illawarravolleyball.org.au and we can give you more info on the process and roles available.
Are there volunteering opportunities with IVA?
Yes! We are always looking for more volunteers to help out at IVA. Our entire board is volunteer run, and we always have opportunities for individuals to help out with running events, competitions, and club administration.
