In 2024, the Illawarra Volleyball board developed a comprehensive 2024-2026 Strategic Plan that outlines our vision, goals, and priorities for IVA over the next three years.

Our Mission

To promote, develop, and engage the sport of volleyball within the regional community, presenting opportunities for recreational and competitive athletes.

Our Vision

To be a leading volleyball association known for cultivating a culture of inclusivity, passion, and excellence, where every player, coach, and supporter thrives and contributes to the growth and success of volleyball in the Illawarra region.

Our Values

• Community - Creating a supportive and connected volleyball environment that provides accessible and enriching opportunities for regional athletes and the Illawarra community.
• Respect - Promoting sportsmanship and fairness, where all members of the volleyball community – including teammates, officials, and opponents – are valued and respected.
• Inclusivity - Ensuring equal opportunity for all individuals to participate and thrive in volleyball, regardless of background, gender, age, ethnicity, or sexuality.

Strategic Pillars and Objectives

Our strategic plan centres around 6 key strategic pillars:

1. Participation & Community Engagement

Objective: Increase participation and foster community engagement by expanding outreach and inclusivity initiatives, ensuring volleyball is accessible to all community members, and enhancing volunteer engagement to support club operations.

2. Competitive Excellence

Objective: Achieve competitive excellence by developing athletes through structured pathways, enhancing coaching and officiating standards, and consistently achieving top performances in regional and state-level competitions.

3. Partnerships and Collaborations

Objective: Establish strategic partnerships and collaborations with schools, businesses, and organisations to expand resources, enhance program offerings, and increase volleyball's presence and impact within the community.

4. Culture, Wellbeing, and Governance

Objective: Foster a positive culture that aligns with our core values and embed effective governance and health and safety practices to ensure integrity, efficiency, fairness, and wellbeing in our operations.

5. Financial Sustainability

Objective: Ensure financial sustainability through effective financial management and diverse funding sources to enable long-term stability and growth of IVA's programs and operations.
